simple words for a difficult time

Last night, the verse in my devotional read:

"The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart." (Psalm 34:18)

After an evening filled with the news of tragedy in Boston, this felt so right and perfect and needed. My heart and prayers are with that grand, dear city that I remember fondly and occasionally miss.
