grandeur in the littlest things

Visiting the Biltmore Estate last weekend was amazing! There's so much extravagance and luxury...yet what I enjoyed more than anything were the lovely little details of the house and gardens, and the sweet moments of time with family and friends. They made the grandeur even more lovely, and the day even more beautiful.

(a family portrait in the pretty photo spot in the Conservatory)

(reusing wine bottles in the garden - eco-creativity at its finest)

(a fountain at the end of the front lawn)

(a curious statue in the Italian Garden)

(a wistful serene moment - just a girl and her lion)

(a daisy and hydrangea - wonderful)

(a predictable shot, perhaps...but I still like it)

(delicious Estate-made chocolate truffles)

(mother and daughter enjoying the flowers)

(delicious food in a unique setting)

(Mom and Dad walking with Aisley while she tries to avoid her shadow)

Sigh...what a wonderfully perfect day!
