good friends, good drinks, good weekend

Originally, my plans for this past weekend centered on a fraternity alumni reunion that a friend was putting together in Wilmington. When the event had to be cancelled, she invited me to visit anyways...she and her husband were going to spend the weekend at The Creek (his grandparents' house), and it would be a great opportunity to hang out. No wedding planning, no big occasions...just hanging out and relaxing in one of my favorite towns.

Such a nice couple of days! While her husband attended to some business, we went shopping, ate at favorite places, visited friends...basically, whatever we felt like doing (or not doing). And of course, we couldn't visit The Creek without having margaritas with Granny. That in itself was pure pleasure - sitting on the porch on a Saturday afternoon, watching the tide flow under sunny skies, topping off our conversation and laughter with some tasty beverages. Wonderful.

The only thing that could have made the weekend better was not having to come home.
