I'm so proud of myself!

So in an effort to prove to myself (and a friend who shall remain nameless) that my music collection is not country-centric, and to finally learn how to create a mix CD (because yes, I really am that behind the technological times), this weekend I assembled a collection of songs that I totally dig, songs that I can't help but sing along to (and sometimes dance) when I hear them, songs that presented a good spectrum of what I listen to. Now, this took me quite a while...I had a lot of CD's to sort through, but at the same time was stymied by a lack of CD's I don't have but would have liked to include. But I finally narrowed the list down, and present for your viewing pleasure (or amusement, depending on what you think of the list) what I am calling Completelee Mixed Up:

Bring Me to Life (Evanescence)
Collide (acoustic, Howie Day)
Turn Your Lights Down Low (Bob Marley and Lauryn Hill)
Walkin' in Memphis (Marc Cohn)
Word Up (Korn)
Truly Madly Deeply (Savage Garden)
Against All Odds (The Postal Service)
All or Nothing (Athena Cage)
Dirrty (Christina Aguilera)
Up to the Roof (Blue Man Group and Tracy Bonham)
Peace (Rebecca St. James)
A Little Less Conversation remix (Elvis Presley)
I Will Remember You (Sarah McLachlan)
Wish for You (Faith Hill)
Do Somethin' (Britney Spears)

And while it confirms that my tastes are pretty mainstream when it comes to music, it also disproves said friend's theory that all I listen to is country...so pppth!! I'm excited, too, that I now know how to make a mix CD...I used to love mix tapes, and am thrilled to finally know how to do something the rest of the universe has known forever. So along with that pppth, let's throw in a big "yay me!".

Where I am: Home
What I'm reading: The Dead Zone by Stephen King

P.S. - And since I passed kindergarten with flying colors, I totally know how to share...if anybody else thinks this list of songs is just fantastic (stop that laughing!), let me know and you, too, can groove sleepeybear-style.

Yay for you figuring out technology! Now if my CD burner wasn't being so silly...

Anyway, I'm always up for listening to other people's music--I think it gives a certain insight. So sign me up for rockin' out Sleepeybear style!

Strange mix, but everyone's got their own method to the madness... Enjoy it.
