But one thought before I go...

So I was finishing Into Thin Air while I did my laundry, and came across this line in the summary at the end: "all told, Everest killed twelve men and women in the spring of 1996..."

Until I got to that line, I was really digging this book. But considering that this is supposed to be a non-fiction account of the climbing expedition, that seemed just a little too dramatic. I mean, seriously...let's not ruin a perfectly good narrative by anthropomorphizing the mountain.
